Location: Greensboro, NC
Designer: Burgess Built & Triad Timber and Millworks
Located in Greensboro, NC, this international manufacturing headquarters project reflects a thoughtful approach to sustainability, innovation, and employee experience. Designed as a series of outdoor gathering spaces, the project features 8 custom-built gazebos and 4 benches that bring functionality, comfort, and environmental responsibility together.
What makes this project truly unique is its closed-loop approach to materials. Every structure was built using 100% timber harvested directly from the site—trees that once stood where a parking lot now serves the campus. These trees were carefully timbered, milled, and kiln-dried before being transformed into the very structures that now define the space. The result is a deeply rooted connection between the land’s past and its present use.
Each gazebo is equipped with solar-powered lighting and integrated charging stations, providing employees with a modern, energy-efficient outdoor environment for work, collaboration, and rest. These spaces encourage time outdoors while supporting the needs of a forward-thinking workplace.
This project is a reflection of intentional design—where sustainability is not an afterthought, but a guiding principle. By repurposing on-site resources and integrating renewable energy solutions, the development demonstrates how construction can honor its environment while creating meaningful, lasting spaces for people.
